We are a collaborative group of academics and placemakers who have joined together via projects to deliver an education program focused on the theory and practice of placemaking. Our overarching aim is to allow architecture, landscape architecture and planning students to learn and experiment with place led approaches and community engagement. Simultaneously, we strive towards having a real impact on the communities that we engage with by working. We do so by the following three key actions:
The nation-wide consortium of universities will work together with local governments, developers and practitioners to truly understand the challenges and obstacles to effective placemaking. This collaborative approach is centred around the design studio as an open pedagogy where experimentation with future placemakers to inform broader capacity building outcomes.
